These categories are subject to editing and updating until the end of the nominations cleanup period. If you have an idea for a category that is distinct from the others here, you may leave a comment and the mods will consider your idea.

The generic terms used here are meant to make the tagset easier to comprehend, not to set the expectation that all captivity settings for this exchange will be prisons (etc., etc.). Prisoner's Exchange welcomes any and all types of captivity scenarios.

General Captivity Scenarios

• Alternate Universe — Use to specify AU settings that are specifically related to captivity and confinement.
• Attitude — Covers mental and emotional states, e.g., Captive Begging For Mercy
• Coercion
• Dubcon 
• Noncon
• Restraint
• Scenario 
• Slavery
• Torture
• Violence

Stages of Captivity

• Capture — Scenarios about how the prisoner is captured
• Prison — The setting/scenario the prisoner is kept in
• Rescue — Scenarios about how the prisoner is freed

People Involved

• Captor — Anyone who impedes or is in a position to impede the freedom of the prisoner(s). Examples include the individual(s) who made the decision to abduct the prisoner and the guard(s) charged with preventing the prisoner from escaping.
• Prisoner — Individual(s) being held and otherwise denied freedom.
• Rescuer — Anyone who works to free the prisoner(s).
• Visitor — Anyone that is not a part of holding the prisoner captive, nor working to free the prisoner, but is present while the prisoner is confined. Visitors are not prohibited from coming and going.

Hello! It seems like this list is a little out of date. I think people have been using “Capture” instead of “Abduction” (there are no tags labeled with the “Abduction” category in the tagset, but there’s a fair amount with “Capture”)
