Tagset duplicates

Thanks to all the participants who have noted the fandoms where duplicates are showing up in the tagset. We'll work on removing the duplicate associations, but getting nominations processed is the higher priority at the moment.

We have cleared all the ones that have shown up so far (we think) but please point out any new ones so they can also be cleared.

Compound Nominations

We have several "compound" nominations that include both & and / tags. We want to make sure that these are all read in the same manner so everyone has the same expectations when using them in their signups. Please reply with your intentions; we may need to restructure the nominations if they are too confusing.

For the Vox Machina one, my intention was that both Percy and Vex are prisoners of the Briarwoods, but the Briarwoods are only being slash with Percy not Vex, and the relationship between Percy and Vex is gen. Does that help? Sorry for the confusion!

My intentions for nominations of multiple characters is that the & is, as usual, read as a gen connection, while the / notates a romantic connection. I don't know of any other way of reading that. :)

So my captors are the gen parts of the scenario, while my prisoner/prisoner and prisoner/rescuer combinations are romantic.

Mods can't see whose nominations are whose so I don't know which ones you're talking about.

The best way to explain the question is an "order of operations" type thing. Is it the intent that the romantic relationships take precedence over the gen ones or the other way around?

The consensus seems to be that everyone is interpreting these the same, which means they can just be approved as is.

Oh, I didn't realise mods don't see who nominates what. Mine are the Famous Five, Historical RPF and The Haunting ones.

Speaking for myself, I definitely always consider the romantic relationship the main part of any fic. And yay for everyone being on the same wavelength there! :)

This might be overcomplicating things but would it be worth adding optional "order of operations" formatting to future exchanges? You could use brackets, e.g:

A/B & C = A and B bang, C is also there
A/(B&C) = A bangs B and C; no romantic connection between B and C

Or something. I haven't thought this through.

The Doctor Who nom was mine. My intention was a romantic and/or sexual relationship between the OMC and the Doctor, a gen/platonic relationship between the companion and the OMC, and a gen/platonic relationship between the companion and the Doctor. I have seen this formatting used in other exchanges and I'm not sure of another way to interpret it?

For personal reasons I've been out of the greater exchange game so I wasn't 100% sure what the relationship between the OMC and the companion was, but that has clarified it. Thank you.

Re: Pryde/Hux & Mitaka, I was imagining a "Hux takes one to protect Mitaka" situation, but it's a non-exclusive interpretation. "Hux/Pryde and Mitaka is also there" or "Pryde/Hux + Pryde/Mitaka" would all be fine too.

Arrowverse and TVDU noms

For TVDU, the character Malivore is a golem created to capture/consume numerous Mythological Creatures, and is as such a captor, but was also eventually melted into a pit and trapped in stagnant form so he is also a prisoner who spends much of the plot attempting to escape. The character is fully sentient, and I as the nominator thought that duality might be interesting to explore in the character's relationships with prisoners held within him.

Arrowverse:
The first, "Captor!League of Assassins/Prisoners!Laurel Lance & Sara Lance", has already been approved based on other comments, but to clarify my intention, just in case, I had in mind sisters Laurel and Sara having been captured by the League, and pursued by them romantically/sexually, while still maintaining a sororal relationship between themselves, which is why I did Prisoners! before the pair of them, to try and indicate an order of operations. I believe this is consistent with the reasoning already decided on?
The second, "Prisoner!Esperanza "Spooner" Cruz &/Rescuer!Astra Logue &/Rescuer!Behrad Tomaz | Behrad Tarazi": Spooner is a canon ace character so I was attempting to indicate a queerplatonic request between she and Astra, and also Astra's boyfriend Behrad. Should I still remove the ampersands?

The Vampire Diaries: Nominations are not really the place for this kind of very specific scenario. Please pick either Captor or Prisoner, and elaborate on your preferences in your optional details.

Similarly, for the DC's Arrowverse noms, there is not a good, universally understandable way to convey a queerplatonic relationship at this time. Please choose either & or /, and elaborate on your requests in your optional details.
